Proud of our Service, Improvements

letter to the editor

Thank you for bringing attention to "Your World. Your Language.", the first-ever free language interpretation phone service, in your recent article "Phoning It In" (3/1/2007). Breaking down language barriers that impede communication and impact limited English speakers' quality of life is at the heart of everything we do at Language Line Services. "Your World. Your Language." was developed with that same spirit and a goal of creating new opportunities for limited English speakers, regardless of language.

Therefore, we appreciate your constructive criticism regarding the wrinkles of this new service. We have resolved these operational issues through better training of our business partners' English-speaking customer service representatives and improvements to the "Your World. Your Language." automated system.

However, as with any new venture, we expect to experience some growing pains. We are working tirelessly to prevent future consumer experiences reported in your story, and continue to increase the variety and number of business services available to limited-English speakers through "Your World. Your Language." Although still in its infancy, we are extremely proud of the benefits "Your World. Your Language." provides to limited English speakers who, for the first time, have easy and independent access to the banking, insurance, and telephone, utility and other vital business services they want and need.

Sincerely,

Louis Provenzano
